Welcome to the Health Dam

Kristen Beavers got her degree in massage therapy in 2012 after completing 975 credit hours at Miller-Motte Technical College in Clarksville, TN.

During that time, she also got her first Reiki attunement.

That was the start of her journey, transforming her life with a holistic focus on healing herself from a lifelong battle with an autoimmune disease known as ankylosing spondylitis.

Since then, she has eagerly continued her education to include certifications in: Holistic Wellness Coaching, Reiki I/II/III, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Therapy, Psychosomatic Medicine, Ecstatic Dance Facilitation, Tuina, and more in the works including an ACE Personal Training Certificate. Some other forms of education she has taken part in include a small workshop known as Earth Keepers Wisdom School: a community and nature-based healing workshop that was a year-long, with four seasonally based weekend camps on a self-sustained farm, and about four years of at least two weekly one-on-one martial arts lessons of Xing Yi with continued self-practice, making about eight years running.

Kristen's mother was in the military so she grew up moving frequently without a feeling of connection to family or a community. Her personal health struggles have helped steer her thirst for holistic healing knowledge as well as her personal experiences of unhealthy childhood trauma leading to miscarriages and repressed memory regression in adulthood. She is no stranger to grief, and as such, her practice is trauma-informed with the intention of sharing the tools that helped her build a safe place to heal and, when it felt like it burned down, rebuild it again to an even stronger place of peace.

Kristen loves to share nature-based medicines with the intention of connecting everyone back to nature, as nature and animals have always been the most potent medicine for her. The more we connect with the nature of ourselves, the more we can feel comfortable in nature. Being comfortable in nature will bring healing to us all as we reconnect to the ecosystem. Beavers is the last name she feels gifted with, as she means to honor them with The Health Dam. They are key-stone creatures finally being recognized for their powerful help in maintaining water systems.

The Beaver is a symbol of dedication and perseverance. The dams are built with the intention to deepen the water and create a safe getaway back to their familial homes. This act of changing their environment to protect their families also adds value to the ecosystem in a way that many creatures and plants benefit from. Water is life and they create an abundance of it with a built in filtration system. Deep water also symbolizes emotions so maybe it is through being like the beaver and embracing the depths but moving through them that brings us safety and abundance.
